Rocks

This class is offered throughout the school year. Learn about the rock cycle. Look at three different types of rocks and find out how they are formed. Understand the difference between a rock and a mineral. Find out the predominant rocks in this area and why they are here.
Science E4.1: Investigate what earth materials are composed of rocks and soils and correctly use the vocabulary for rocks, minerals and soils during these investigations.

Insects

This class is offered throughout the school year. What is an insect? Come to Willow River State Park to learn about an insect's life cycle. Find out how insects help us. At several hands on stations explore in more detail the different insects and how they live.
Science F4.4: Illustrate the different ways that organisms grow through life stages and survive to produce new members of their type.

Turtles

This class is offered throughout the school year. Did you know turtles are relatives of dinosaurs? How do turtles see and move in their environment? Come to Willow River State Park and learn the life cycles of turtles. Try and crawl though a turtle's habitat and do some hands on turtle's activities.
