Clinical Trials:
There are no medical expenses if you are accepted into these programs but you have to undergo a few more tests than normal.

Those interested in clinical trials at NIH also can access a searchable databaseof these studies at http://clinicalstudies.info.nih.gov/.   This database lists eligibility criteria, exclusion criteria, and a summary of what the investigators are doing for each trial.  The main site also contains links to general information about clinical trials, how doctors can refer a patient, facts about the Clinical Center (NIH's hospital), and so on.

Another potentially useful source of information, although it does not currently list any ACM trials, is the NIH Office of Rare Diseases at http://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/ord/ or phone:  301-402-4336.  They have a
searchable database of clinical trials for rare diseases and many other resources.

The Medline database of biomedical literature is available free of charge via the WWW.   The
website is  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed/
This can be a very good resource for checking what's been published about a particular topic as the indexed citations extend back to 1966.
