As a parent, or caring adult, you want your boy to grow up to be self-reliant and dependable, worthy and caring. Scouting has these same goals in mind for him.
The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build desirable qualities of character, to train in the responsibilities of participating and citizenship, and to develop personal fitness. Personal fitness includes physical, mental and emotional fitness.
Since 1910, the BSA has been weaving lifetime values into fun and educational activities. These activities are designed to help families teach their sons how to make good decisions throughout their lives and give them confidence as they become the adult leaders of tomorrow.
Tiger Cubs is the fist step of Cub Scouting, followed by Wolf Cubs, Bear Cubs and finally Webolos. These are offered by the BSA for boys in first through fifth grade.
