Lodge location:
209 Locust St.
Hudson, WI
Typical
yearly activities:
Pancake
Breakfast: Held
the first weekend in February during the Hudson Hot Air Affair, the Pancake
Breakfast is one of our biggest money making activities. In a good year we serve as many as 500
guests, right in the dining room of the Lodge.
Proceeds from this event are used, in large part, to fund our annual
scholarships.
Scholarships: Each spring the Hudson Masonic Lodge awards a scholarship to one
senior from the Hudson High School, and one from the St. Croix Central High
School.
Build
A Kid A Toy: Begun in 2001, this is a very rewarding
event. Starting in the fall, Lodge
members meet at the shop of one of the members. We’ll build a batch of toys that, near Christmas, are donated to
Turning Point and Grace Place of Hudson and River Falls (a halfway house and
domestic abuse shelter) and to the Shrine Hospital of the Twin Cities. Most materials for the project are donated
by local businesses.
Table
Lodge: A Table Lodge is a social event, often quite
formal, at which members enjoy a dinner and program that highlights
Masonry. Historically, Table Lodges
were held as a celebration for the Lodge.
Garage
Sale: With all the goods for the garage sale
donated, how can we go wrong with this fund raiser? Held each summer, the garage sale grows a little each year.
Open
House: We’ve found it can be very beneficial to
open our doors to the public and let them see what Masonry is all about. Members are on hand to show people the
building and answer any questions.
Honors
Night:
Generally held in December, Honors Night highlights the membership of Past
Masters and Masons with many years of membership.
