Introduction
The
Minnesota CHAPTER of the International Association
of Workforce Professionals (IAWP) is a non-profit
professional organization. It is part of
a worldwide organization of over 20,000
professionals employed in public and non-profit
programs that provide Employment Services,
Unemployment Insurance, Labor Market Information,
Job Training and a variety of services related
to the workforce needs of citizens, businesses
and organizations.
Founded in 1913, IAWP predates much of the
United States legislation that created and
consolidated many of the programs that now
comprise the national workforce development
system. It is the oldest and most widely
recognized organization for professionals
working in workforce systems through out
the world. IAWP provides a myriad of services,
benefits, educational programs, legislative
awareness and recognition avenues for members
and the organizations in which they are
employed.
Mission Statement
The mission of The International Association
of Workforce Professionals is to ENHANCE
member growth and development; to SERVE
personnel in employment, unemployment, training
and related programs; and to SUPPORT administrators
and their agencies.
Code of Ethics
As a Member of the International Association
of Workforce Professionals, I will uphold
the standards of my profession; search continually
for new truths, methods, and techniques;
keep myself fully informed of all developments
in the fields of employment, unemployment,
training and related programs; cooperate
with all others in this field in the use
of common knowledge; accept membership in
this association as a personal responsibility;
dedicate myself actively to discharge these
obligations; and declare myself to that
end.
The Minnesota CHAPTER IAWP extends a welcome
to you and encourages you to contact us
regarding membership in The International
Association of Workforce Professionals.
