Meet Our Web Team!
Kinnic Veterinary Service - Dr. Bloom
When we say that River Falls is "good for your health", we mean it's good for your pet's health too! We have some good veterinary clinics in town, and wanted to feature one here. We chose Dr. Bloom at Kinnic Veterinary Service. He met with us, showed us around his clinic, and taught us a little bit about veterinary medicine. Each of the members of the Web Team were asked to tell a thing or two they learned from Dr. Bloom:

Nathan
At Dr. Bloom's office he showed us all of his equipment. One of his machines was a special x-ray. He said they're going to get a more hi-tech one soon and they are really looking forward to that.

Dr. Bloom showed us some x-rays of dogs. One dog had a tumor and a problem with its back. Dr. Bloom said that the dog did not make it. It died when it was 15 years old.
Rebekah
Dr. Bloom told us that dogs don't have heart attacks. Dogs can have a lot of different diseases.

He told us to make sure you put all of your toys away when you're done using them because your dog could eat one and it could get really sick.
Rachel
Dr. Bloom also sells special pet foods.

Dr. Bloom told us to brush our pet's teeth to keep them healthy so they don't get kidney failure, because they swallow the bacteria that are on their teeth and it makes them sick.

Dr. Bloom put some gel on my armand put a doppler machine against it to hear my heartbeat.

We saw a dog there that suffering from kidney failure and was getting dialysis but probably wasn't going to make it.

Maija
Dr. Bloom told us about a dog who's owners left out a bottle of Gorilla Glue. The dog ate it and then it went down into his stomach. The dog could only eat soup because that could make it through his stomach but no other food could. They did surgery and took the glue out, which made a moulding of his stomach.
Simon
Dr. Bloom showed us an x-ray of a dog's legs and asked us to find where the broken bone was. The dog had a broken bone by his knee.

Logan
They don't have even a small AED for animals.

They use lots of computers, and will soon be using them for x-rays too.
