Chaska Lions Club 
Meetings and Events

 


On July 29, 2007, several Chaska Lions Club members and their children marched in the River City Days 
parade - supplying area residents who lined the parade route with lots and lots of candy!

 


In 2006, the Chaska Lions Club presented the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship 
Award to: (Lt to Rt) Lion Greg Boe, Lion Benita Scott, Tracy Swanson, Gary (not 
pictured) and Sandy Cooper, and Lion Kim Jordahl.  The fellowship was established
in 1973 by the Lions Club International as their highest form of recognition to
acknowledge an individual's dedication to humanitarian service in their community.  

 


Chaska Lions Club member Matt Klein (Rt) presents a check 
for the "Journey for Sight" to the Lions Club District Governor.

 


Past Lions Club President Dale Diedrick presents a check to Moravian Care Ministries.  
The Chaska Lions Club is proud to serve our local community in many different ways!

Lion Luke Melchert (left) is the proud recipient of the Lions District 5M2 Governors 
"Service is the Key" Award, presented by Past District Governor Debra Wasserman.  This award is presented 
to Lions Club members who are outstanding in their levels of service and volunteer-ism to their local community.

 


Proud recipients of "Chevron Awards" for length of Lions Club membership on June 1, 2004, 
included (left to right): Gary Riba (25 years), Dale Diedrick (30 years), 
Dave Chase (30 years), and Mike Ramsland (40 years).  Not pictured

Tail Twister Lion Bob Topinka (right) leaves Lion Jim Walters laughing (with a few less 
quarters in his pocket) as Lion Jim is "fined" for some sort of minor "infraction"!

 


Scott Knight, Chief of the Chaska Police Department, explained the finer-points of Minnesota's 
Conceal and Carry (Gun) Law.  This was a very interesting and informative presentation!

 


On March 1, 2004, students from Clover Ridge Elementary School and Chaska Elementary School 
sang some fine patriotic songs and heard from some interesting and inspiring speakers during 
Liberty Days in Chaska.  This  event was sponsored in part by the Chaska Lions Club.  
Among the speakers was Representative Mark Kennedy, a Lions Club member himself!
