Announcing Your Chance to Own a Piece of Golf History!

Chaska, Minnesota – Richie Ramsay, 23 year old golfer from Scotland, won four of six holes with birdies to take a 3-up lead after 13 holes and then held on the rest of the way to beat John Kelly (a 21 year old from St. Louis, Missouri) 4 and 2, in an exciting 36-hole final of the 106th U.S. Amateur Championship Sunday August 27th, 2006, at Hazeltine National Golf Club in beautiful Chaska Minnesota.  With the win, Ramsay became the first Scotsman since 1898 to win the US Amateur championship.

The U.S. Amateur, the oldest USGA championship, was first played in 1895 at Newport Golf Club in Rhode Island . The event, which has no age restriction, is open to those with a Handicap Index of 2.4 or lower. It is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the USGA.

Each time one of the award-winning golf courses in the scenic river-valley town of Chaska hosts a major golf tournament, the city decorates their historic lamp posts throughout town with beautiful banners spotlighting of the upcoming event.
