Policy/Procedure: PROCEDURE FOR CLOSING ARENA -- Policy R
Approved: September 1996; revised October 2002
It is the responsibility of the last team using the Amery Ice Arena to insure that the Ice Arena is locked and secure prior to leaving the facility for the day. The following process should be used.
1. All of the lights over the ice rink must be turned off. The main switches for these are located in the storage room on the east side of the rink. Light switches numbered 1 though 10 control the main rink lights.
2. Check the Zamboni garage and make sure the lights have been turned off.
3. Check the score booth and make sure the lights are off, the door is locked and the PA system and scoreboard have been shut down. The heat control should be set to the red dot, not turned off.
4. All lights in the players and official’s locker rooms must also be turned off. Light switches numbered 13, 14, 15, and 16 control these lights.
5. The lights in the player’s restroom are controlled by a switch located in the restroom area. They are not on the main breaker box. Therefore, these lights must be turned off from inside the restroom.
6. The lights in the lobby restrooms are also controlled by switches located in the restroom areas, and must be turned off before leaving the Arena.
7. The light switch in the main lobby, located near the south doors, control the lights in the lobby, entryway, and the fluorescent lights in the rink. These three switches must be turned off before leaving the Arena.
8. The four main doors and the east door in the lobby must be locked. The hex key for these doors is located on the bulletin board near the phone in the lobby. By inserting the key into the hole located in the middle of the emergency bar, you will be able to release the lock and secure the doors.
If you have any difficulties in securing the Ice Arena and need assistance, please call the Maintenance Committee Chairperson or a Board Member.
