Policy/Procedure: TEAM UNIFORMS FOR BANTAM PLAYERS AND BELOW -- Policy K

Approved: April 12, 1994; revised February 22, 1999; revised October, 2002,  revised June, 2004

Athletic teams wear uniforms primarily so all players, officials, and spectators can clearly identify which team each player is on.  Additionally, team uniforms promote unity, pride, discipline, and esprit de corps within the team.  It is with these objectives in mind that the following policies are adopted.  It is the responsibility of each team’s head coach to ensure compliance with these policies.

Mites, Squirts, Peewees, and Bantam requiring jerseys can be ordered through the current local sports apparel retailer.

The Initiation Program player’s jerseys can be ordered through the Initiation manager.

Team colors for all AYHA teams are Red, Black, and White

Squirt, Peewee, and Bantam levels are required to have a home and away jersey.

The traveling Mite teams are required to have only a home jersey.

The Girls teams are required to have only the away jersey.

The required jersey and legging combinations for AYHA teams are:

The wearing of tattered or unclean jerseys or leggings is not permitted.
The wearing of non-matching leggings is specifically prohibited and possible suspension of playing in that game will be considered and determined by the head coach.

The preferred color of helmets, breezers, and gloves for AYHA teams is Red.  Players already in possession of these items in other colors may continue to use them; however, when replacement is necessary due to size or condition, Red is the required replacement color.

The above requirements apply to all games.  For practices game jerseys or game leggings are not to be worn for practice.
