Policy/Procedure:  ZAMBONI AND ICE RESURFACING PROCEDURES  -- Policy AC

1)      Fill the two large tanks with hot water using the large hose.  Place hose in the pipe located on the rear right-side of the Olympic Ice Resurfacer (OIR).

2)      Fill the small container using the same hose after filling the large tanks.  Place hose in the hole on top of the tank.  Fill container within 3 inches from the top.

3)      Check rear blade.  Adjust blade to be even with sides.  Turn crank one turn clockwise to set depth.

4)      Start engine and check oil pressure and LP tanks.

5)      Back onto the ice.

6)      Place in Drive and increase RPMs to 1200 and drop conditioner and turn on elevator.

7)      Turn on cold and hot water valves.

8)      Adjust the blade until shavings are augered into OIR.

9)      Put out board brush.

10)  Turn on recirculation pump after half of a lap.  Check to make sure pump is working.

11)  The ice resurfacing pattern should be as follows: (see Map in the Zamboni Room)

12)  Shut off water with ¼ laps left to resurface.

13)  Turn off the recirculation pump.

14)  Turn off elevator before raising conditioner.

15)  Continue outside and dump ice shavings and then rinse off augers.

16)  WASH dirt or debris off tires as needed.
