1. Arena Maintenance & Building Projects:

a. Keeping building and rinks in complete repair
b. Flooding the ice rinks
c. Snow removal from the parking lot
d. Determine building needs, obtain information and price estimates to submit to the AYHA board for approval.
e. Maintain and repair hockey equipment as needed. (Zamboni, scoreboard, furnace, public address system, communication equipment)
f. Repair and update bleachers and other viewing areas.
g. Maintain and repair hockey boards and players boxes.
h. Change ice blade on Zamboni
i. Provide tune ups and lubrication for Zamboni
j. For major repairs or the need for new equipment or additions, submit cost estimates and proposals to AYHA board for approval of funds.

2. Arena / Game Scheduler:

a. Schedule the activities within the Amery Ice Arena (year round)
b. Work with Coaching Staff setting practice schedules
c. Schedule away as well as home games for each hockey team
d. Post the home game schedule at the Amery Ice Arena
e. Inform the referee scheduler of all home games and tournament game time schedules.

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Awards & Recognition Committee:

a. Write articles for the AYHA newsletter regarding individuals or teams who need to be recognized for major achievements, contributions (either volunteer hours or raising money) or outstanding games.
b. Write articles for the AYHA newsletter Hi-Lighting Honor Roll students (and so on)
c. Organize the annual awards and recognition night (includes setting the date, reserving the space, ordering the necessary awards & preparing programs)
d. All expenses need to be approved by the AYHA board.

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. Budget & Planning Committee:

a. Preparing and submitting the annual budget to the Board for approval prior to July 1st
b. The treasurer will have a record of the revenues of the previous year and will be on this committee
c. The treasurer will separate the revenues and expenditures into various categories and submit regular financial reports to the Board of Directors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. Coaching Program:

a. Obtain applications from people interested in coaching
b. Recommendations are presented to the AYHA board.
c. Final decision for coach selection will be made by the Board of Directors.
d. Provide set guidelines to the coaches outlining their responsibilities as an Amery Hockey Coach.
e. Insure that coaches attend the necessary coaching clinics.
f. This committee needs to research any coaching staff problem and report it to the Code of Conduct Committee when necessary.
g. Sets practice schedules in cooperation with the arena / game scheduler and coaches
h. Sets Coaching Philosophy

6. Code of Conduct Committee:

a. This committee is comprised of one AYHA Board member, one coach and one parent representative.
b. This committee investigates any alleged violation of the Code of Conduct by player and/or coaches as outlined in the Code of Conduct policies and procedures handbook.

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. Concessions Committee:

a. Stock Kitchen weekly during the hockey season
b. Stock Kitchen as needed for summer activities
c. Maintain and repair all Kitchen appliances as needed (obtain approval from AYHA board for major repairs or need to replace or purchase new equipment)
d. Provide necessary change for the weekend during the hockey season or as needed for summer activities.
e. Stock Pro Shop with pucks, tape, sticks, mouth guards, skate laces, leggings, etc.
f. Submit itemized bills to the treasurer

8. Association Volunteer Coordinating Committee:

a. Organize volunteers for special projects, fundraisers, open skating, open roller blading, arena cleaning, etc.
b. Inform Team Managers of their duties to the team and the organizing of parents to cover necessary work which needs to be done by all members to keep down the costs of maintaining the Amery Ice Arena and Hockey Association.
c. Set policies and procedures for concessions, weekly cleaning duties, team managers, open skating/roller blading etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

9. Equipment Managers:

a. Distribute and keep a running record of AYHA hockey equipment for the Initiation Program (helmets, kneepads and elbow pads)
b. Distribute and keep a running record of AYHA Goalie Equipment (chest protectors, kneepads, gloves and blockers)
c. Keep the equipment in good repair
d. Purchase any needed equipment (price and submit requests for new equipment to the Board)
e. Order jerseys, as needed, for players (keep records of existing numbers of each team to avoid duplicates)

a. Plan and organize fall clinic and fall league
b. Publicize the fall clinic and fall league

d. Conduct the various fund raisers throughout the year (i.e. Pizza sales, raffles, auctions, food stands)
e. Look into different fund raising ideas and submit to AYHA board for approval
f. Sending out fundraising invoices in regards to the mandatory fundraising amounts.
g. Obtaining team sponsors

12. Legut Scholarship and Legut Alumni Game:

a. Select the recipient of the John Legut Memorial Scholarship, by reviewing applications and assigning points for each set of criteria contained upon the application.
b. President shall participate in planning of alumni game and sending out notification of game.

13. Referee Program:

a. Recruit referees for the season
b. Insure that all referees obtain certification by attending the necessary clinics (paid by AYHA)
c. Schedule the referees for all games and tournaments
d. Submit itemized statements to the treasurer for payments of the referees on a monthly basis
e. Conduct monthly referee meetings during the season.

All representatives and committees of AYHA must submit all bills or revenues to the treasurer on a monthly or weekly basis. The bills and/or revenues need to be labeled as to where in the budget categories they are to be placed.

All representatives and committees of AYHA must submit their estimated revenues and expenditures to the AYHA treasurer by June 1st. The treasurer will then compile a budget to be submitted to the board for approval prior to July 1st.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ace Coordinator
The Association Coaching and Education (ACE) Coordinator is an experienced individual with a strong coaching background who serves as or link to the national Coaching Education Program. Our ACE Coordinators organizes, manages and assist in the development and training of our coaching staff, promote parent education and provide clear goals and objectives for player skill development.  This person is what makes AYHA the best hockey organization around.
