Coaches are needed The Amery Youth Hockey Association is now taking applications for coaching Mites through Bantams for the 2010-2011 season. The applications can be found on the Amery Hockey website under the “Coaches Corner” and then go to the “Contacts” heading. Applications must be fully completed, signed and mailed, emailed or faxed to either Scott Ward (ACE Coordinator) or Kevin Smith (Coaching Committee Chair). Applications are due Friday, September 10th by 4pm. We strongly encourage anyone who is interested in coaching to apply. The association likes to have a lot of help at the Mite level. All coaches must be certified through USA Hockey. Certification is fairly easy and involves taking certification classes offered August through November by USA Hockey. Class locations can be found on USA Hockey’s website www.usahockey.com and go to coaches clinics. If you have any questions please contact Scott Ward or Kevin Smith. |

This Is The Big Time!
#18 We are very proud to announce that Kyle Schultz has signed with the Minnesota Wildcats of the MJHL. Below is the press release from the Wildcats. Way to go Kyle! The Minnesota Wildcats are excited to announce the signing of Kyle Schultz from Amery, Wisconsin. Kyle helped lead the Amery Warriors to a 16-7-1 record last season. He was second in scoring on the team with 41 goals and 30 assists in 23 games. Kyle (6’4” and 180 lbs) will bring great size along with tremendous offensive firepower. “Kyle was one of the top offensive players last year in the state of Wisconsin. He has great vision of the ice. His offensive skills are going to translate very well in our league. Kyle is going to be a great asset to the Wildcats organization. I am very excited that he will be joining us. I expect Kyle to be very successful and potentially move up to the NAHL quickly. “ - Coach Liesmaki |

Just received a check for $1200 from the Ann Marie Foundation Grant. This foundation is dedicated to helping the communities in which Phillips Plastics employees live and work. This was a grant that Julie Measner and I applied for a couple of months ago for a defibrillator. So it pays to apply for grant money!!! --- Kevin |

Used/New Gear Needed AYHA would like to be able to offer its new members at the Mini Mite/Mite levels and any girls who are interested in skating for Amery, the opportunity to rent or borrow equipment from our association for their first season with the association. It would also be nice to have the ability to rent out skates for our community open skating night. We are asking our association members to donate any used equipment that they no longer have a use for. We are looking for any size items. If you would like to donate equipment, please contact any of the AYHA Board Members or just bring it to the rink!!! Many kids have already benefited from this and we are trying to reach as many new skaters as possible. WE are in great need of Helmets, Sticks and Skates!!!
