These instructions will walk you through the steps needed to re-configure Outlook Express to be compatible with dial-up access in La Crosse, Eau Claire or any other PressEnter National Dial-Up numbers. If you haven't configured Outlook Express, please follow these instructions first or call the helpdesk for assistance.
First, open Outlook Express so you see a window similar to the image below

Open the "Tools" menu at the top of the window. In this menu, choose "Accounts".
You should now see the Internet Accounts window. Click on the Mail tab to view only your email accounts. We'll now need to change a few settings within each account you have listed. Left click on an account to highlight it and click on the Properties button to the right.
You'll need to make two changes to the properties of each account. First, click on the "Servers" tab. Check the box that says "My Server Requiers Authentication".
Finally, click on the "Advanced" tab at the top. You should see a screen similar to the picture below. You'll need to change the port for the outgoing mail server (SMTP) to 587. Click on OK to save these changes. If you have more than one account listed in the Internet Accounts window, remember to make these two changes for each account. If you don't, click on close to close the Internet Accounts window.

To make sure everything works, try sending a test email to your own email address. If you have any problems, call our helpdesk or start over at the beginning of this walkthrough.
