Setting up the Network Control
Panel:
Open the Windows NT Control Panel. Next, double click on the "Network"
control panel, then on the "Services" tab.

Click on "Remote Access Service", then click
on the "Properties" button. You will not be able to edit these
properties if you are not logged in as Administrator.

Pick the definition of your modem from the
list. If you don't see the modem listed, you'll need to add
it. To do this follow the instructions provided by your modem
manufacturer. Click on the "Network" button, and make sure
that "TCP/IP" is the only selected Dial-out Protocol, uncheck
any other protocols.

Click on the "OK" button to close the Network
Configuration window, then click "Continue" to close the Remote
Access Setup window, and finally the "OK" button to close
the Network control panel and accept the changes.

Setting up the Dial Up Connection:
Double click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop, and open
up the "Dial-Up Networking" folder. Click "New", to open the "New
Phonebook Entry Wizard".

Be sure to put a check in the "I know all
about phonebook entries" box, click the "Finish" button to
continue.

Click on the "Basic" tab and set up the basic
settings as follows: Make sure that the proper modem is selected.
If you don't know what type of modem is installed on your
computer, consult the user manual for your computer. If the
type of modem which is installed on your computer is not listed,
you could try one of the generic modem types. If this does
not work, contact the computer or modem manufacturer. Click
on the "Alternates" button to open the Phone Numbers window.

To add an entry to the Phone Numbers, enter
the phone number in the "New phone number" field and click
on the "Add" button. PressEnter
Dial-Up Numbers Click on the "OK" button to close the
Phone Numbers window.

In the "Edit Phonebook Entry" window, click
on the "Server" tab. Set up the Server settings as shown here.
Make sure the Network Protocol "TCP/IP" is the only one checked.
If any other protocols are checked, uncheck them.

Click on the "Script" tab, and make sure
that "after dialing (login)" is set to None. If it is not,
click on "None" to select it.

Click on the "Security" tab, and make sure
that "Authentication and encryption policy" is set to "Accept
any authentication including clear text." Click "ok" at the
bottom to save your changes.

Dialing in to PressEnter:

To open a connection to PressEnter, double
click on the "My Computer" icon, and open the "Dial-Up Networking"
folder, next select "PressEnter" as the phonebook entry to
dial, and click the "Dial" button, to start the connection.
